Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth.
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same.
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Today, I spent the entire afternoon with 2 middle-aged single women and listened to them talk about men.
After spending the afternoon with them, I’m not sure if I would rather become a nun or take my chances and marry.
Decisions, decisions.
Who would have thought that waiting could be so hard? Waiting is such an excruciating thing for me right now. I’m just glad that I have a heavenly Father to lean on out throughout it all; otherwise, I’d be a complete mess!
This is my first 5-part harmony that I have ever done.. It’s also the first 5-part harmony that I have ever done with using just my voice. It’s slightly choppy, but it’s fun. :)
I have way too much fun with GarageBand. :)
I find it so incredible how the Lord graciously provides us the opportunities to grow and learn more about Him, especially when we pray for it. There are many days where, in my prayers, I will fervently ask Him for the opportunity to understand something in regards to His nature or His holy word and He has always been quick to provide.
For example: lately, I have been wanting to come to a better understanding of the nature of God. This has been pervading my mind for quite some time and I knew that it was something that needed to be answered, so during these past few days, I have been praying to God and asking Him to please help me find answers through His written word.
Well, tonight, I decided that I was going to begin reading the book of Romans since I had not read it in a while, so I started reading chapter one and this is what I read:
Romans 1:16-25
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
17 For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hinder the truth in unrighteousness;
19 because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them.
20 For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity; that they may be without excuse:
21 because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks; but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for the likeness of an image of corruptible man, and of birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts unto uncleanness, that their bodies should be dishonored among themselves:
25 for that they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
At this point, God (via His word) had revealed a portion of the answer that I was looking for!
God is righteous to His faithful followers, while God is wrathful towards those who do not obey them. One of the things that struck me the most is that, in verses 19-20 it is shown that God HAS made Himself known to the unrighteous. How? Through His creation! The majestic mountains, the infinite number of scintillating stars in the nighttime sky, a powerful storm…. all of these things are God’s way of telling people that He IS the One who possesses all infinite power and divinity. It makes so much sense! The latter verses (verses 21-25) were disheartening, though, due to the remembrance that there are people who simply refuse to acknowledge Him as Lord because of their arrogance and desire for the satisfaction of their own lusts and pleasures. However, the cool thing is that God has manifested Himself so that ALL may see Him and know Him. WOW!
Bible studies are awesome!!!! :D
